One day, right?

Hold on to your bits, there’s a new automated crypto trading platform in town and boy do their algorithms mean business… profits too, obviously.

TL;DR — bots lag, TradingView lags, minty doesn’t.

UPDATE 25th April 2020:
minty have just announced they are open for sign-ups! The platform is in paper mode meaning you can demo it with paper (not real) funds, go check it out at platform.minty.fund!

Now, I’m not taking what I wrote in my previous article about the best crypto TradingView strategies, indicators and bots to use them with for automated trading back. I would, however, like to share an interesting update/insight about minty, who I mentioned in said article, as to be honest… they’ve pivoted onto an absolute game-changer in my eyes. I’ve even managed to grab the chance to get early access to its ‘paper mode’ and pick the founder’s brains to provide some more context for this article.

Bit of a back-story, minty initially used to create and share some pretty epic if not some of the best Crypto TradingView strategies (for free), I’m not talking indicators that just plonk labels on your chart which you can’t back-test, actual strategies.

These were high-performing crypto strategies (smashed the buy and hold returns by a good few hundred percent, easily) that didn’t re-paint or offset signals either. minty went as far as publishing 4/5 different strategies and even made tutorials to show people how to use them in conjunction with some good crypto trading bots.

Fast forward several months of healthy gains and building up a nice crypto Discord community, the admins decided to pivot. Why? From personal experience of using their TradingView strategies with a bot, I found that sometimes the webhook delay from TradingView meant once an alert fired off on the chart, the bot I was using didn’t receive it for a few seconds (14 seconds was the longest I noticed). This meant that the bots entry/exit price rarely matched up with that on TradingView due to slippage, volatility, delay… you know the drill.

I still ran the bots profitably, however, other users and myself did notice the odd position close resulting in a loss when it should’ve technically been in profit as well as our bots sometimes missing trades completely. It seems the minty admins were picking up on this too:

To be honest, I was probably getting more frustrated than anyone with the delay of the TradingView alert webhooks to my bots, seeing as I was running 50 seperate bots across 50 different crypto pairs on Binance.

Although they were doing well, it was just annoying how the bot performance never matched up with the TradingView strategy performance, along with some alerts not even being sent combined with bots missing signals sometimes — it just wasn’t ideal and completely out of our hands.

To be even more honest, I also got fed up of my DMs getting rammed with people asking for help in setting up bots and using the strategies. I don’t mind helping people and rarely say no, but it get’s a bit over-whelming eventually, especially when more and more people were joining the Discord to get access to the strats.

So I had a chat with my co-founder, Kake, and we decided we wanted to cut out the middle men aka TradingView and bots. We wanted to create something more reliable, simple and transparent. minty ‘v2’ was born shortly after.

What’s coming?

minty has since pulled their strategies from TradingView and ported them over to their AAP (automated algorithm-led platform, I just coined that — maybe it will catch on!) which is connected directly to the exchanges they plan on using, at the moment it’s FTX and Binance with more to be added in the future. This means no webhook signals and no bots. minty will be able to fire signals and enter or exit positions within 20 milliseconds — no delay, no relying on bots and boasting ridiculous speeds that only HFT trading firms or private bot developers could match. It’s beautiful.

The other good thing about this is how simple it is. If you’re thinking you can still access the strategies and configure them yourself, you’re wrong.

Instead of allowing users to sign up and manage their own signals, minty literally does it all for you — all I had to do was register an account and deposit funds (paper money at the moment whilst they finish developing the platform). Once I deposited my ‘funds’, I sat back and watched the platform make trades for me, I didn’t need to lift a single finger.

My bots performance using the minty strategy on a few pairs back in Nov 2021.

The good thing about minty is, as you can see on their website, they are super transparent. This isn’t an HYIP scheme, their fees are extremely generous, there’s no referral program and you can withdraw your funds/profits at any time of day without any human interaction from their end. It’s all automated.

This also means something even more awesome, by combining users' trading volume into one and running it on multiple algorithms. minty is able to monitor and trade literally hundreds of pairs simultaneously, something that those with smaller budgets would never be able to do — you’d still benefit from this with minty even if you deposited $50. Hell, even those carrying big bags with their own private bots wouldn’t be able to trade like this.

Yes, minty has essentially pivoted into a crypto fund with its very own trading platform to cater to investors of all budgets and yes, everyone will share the same trades and profits… don’t forget losses, let’s be honest nothing is that perfect and there will always be a slight drawdown:

I’m extremely excited about the platform, not going to lie. We’ve worked extremely hard on this pretty much round the clock (the Mrs hates me) and will be pleased to exit the platform from paper mode and launch it to our Discord community and those who signed up on the website.

It’s also nice that it will be able to appeal to those less technically able, no offence to them of course, unless you’re my dad — watching him try to use TradingView let alone set up a bot was making me seriously consider putting myself up for adoption, I’m 33 this year.

We’ve also managed to develop two new crypto strategies which have shown great promise, so things are looking good. Along with yourself there are obviously 12 other ‘beta testers’ helping us flush out some bugs in paper mode and make improvements based on your feedback, which we’re grateful for. I don’t see this phase taking much longer than a couple of months if not less to be honest.

I’m personally really looking forward to this because I’ve already seen the potential from early access, not to mention the amount of data they provide on its performance page is way more in-depth than that of any other trading firm I've seen. These guys are onto a winner and I can’t wait for it to come out of paper mode and launch to the public.

If you’d like to find out more then check out their website at https://www.minty.fund

Or you can join their Discord community at https://discord.gg/mintyfund

If you have found this informative or useful then please subscribe (or whatever you do on here) as I am still taking a look into the world of DeFi staking and pools. I will be posting another article once I’ve finished writing it about another new (not related) platform I’m playing with, based on optimized auto-staking, which is pretty sweet. The end goal is to use it combined with minty and finally have some time away from manual trading and the PC.. and truly earn actual passive income!

Thanks
CK
